Math Arcade on Fun Brain

Mrs. Witkowski, our Instructional Technology Specialist, is always on the lookout for good educational activities & this one is super! Math Arcade is a great website to help students practice math facts and skills. This might be a little difficult for some K1 kids, but I'm sure there are a few who will be able to do these activities soon or with a little help from an adult. If you have older children, this website is great for them as well!!
There is enough variety on the site to keep kids interested. The game board atmosphere gives students a goal to complete - they have to successfully play all 25 games to reach the end. Students can progress through the site based on their math ability. Math Arcade would be a great site to bookmark so your child can access it throughout the school year. I've added Math Arcade to the "Favorite Links" area on this blog!

More......... Halloween Information

All students have been asked to dress as their future career choice for Halloween this year. This follows our theme for Red Ribbon "I Can Be Anything I Want To Be" Week. Primary students will parade inside the building traveling around the quads so everyone can see their costumes. Please practice helping your child put their costume on (& any make-up required) so they are able to do it by themselves.
The parade will start around 2:45PM. We will have our Halloween party at Snack Time (1:50). Treats are welcome but are NOT necessary. Nutritional snacks are recommended. If you are planning to send in a treat, please email or send a note in your child's folder to let me know.

We Need Apples

Keystone Elementary School is celebrating the 4th Annual Great Pennsylvania Apple Crunch on October 22nd. I plan to do various educational apple activities with the children during that week. I am asking parents to donate a few apples for us to use for snack &/or art activities. A letter requesting apple donations was sent home on 10/7. If you are willing to donate some apples, please fill out the bottom portion of the letter & return it to school in your child's folder by October 15th. I will let you know when to send the apples to school. Thanks for your help & support!
